Even Rodion points from time to time to other interesting sites and events, and thus I would like to mention that the next Advent of Code https://adventofcode.com/ will start soon.
Yeah, correct, that's great idea to share information about various upcoming events for programmers. I even thought of having a kind of calendar but not sure I can well maintain it...
Quickly looked at the link - as I understand it will run starting on December 1
and new problems open every next
day (precisely at midnight by New York time) till December 25
(I guess as there are 25
problems)!
Yes, problems open every day at 00:00 Eastern Standard Time, which is 06:00 Middle European Time. However this time only really matters if you want to compete as points are awarded for the first 100 correct answers. Or you ignore all of that and simply enjoy the coding puzzles.
You get access to the first problem of the day, and if you solve this first part then the second problem part gets unlocked. So overall there are 50 problems.
The website allows you to look and solve the problems from past years, reaching back to 2015.
It's Advent-of-Code time again! In case you need additional challenges beyond CodeAbbey, just for the Advent time of course :).
Particular challenges I'm still trying to get my head around: 2019, days 16 and 22, part 2 in each case. There is of course tons of material out there (e.g. on reddit), but I am trying not to peek.
I second the recommendation. The early problems every December, at the very least, are simple, and they are frequently rather brilliant (this year already the second problem has a simple solution and a good solution, and the difference between the two is hugely instructive).
Mathias: good luck with Advent in general and those two problems in particular. They are probably the (conceptually) hardest problems in all of Advent's history. 2019 was the hardest year, I think.

Just came here to say Hi to Mathias after I saw his handle on the Everybody Codes leaderboard. :)
I second the Everybody Codes recommendation, by the way: it's similar to Advent of Code, but is (a) slightly easier, and (b) the difficulty ramps up between the (three) parts of each problem, and not as much between the problems themselves. Highly recommended.
I didn't know this website. I've been looking and I find it very interesting. The bad thing is that the publication time fits me very badly. But like you say, I'll ignore that part and try to enjoy the puzzles. Thanks for the notice!
Hi as well, nice to see familiar names! And yes the publication time is not great - I tried it once half asleep and that didn't go well - but just ignore that element and enjoy the puzzles at whatever time works for you.
