Hi,
I am David, and I am from the Netherlands, but have lived for a long time in the UK (mainly London) and have recently moved to Australia.
I have a background in Economics and, until recently, worked in that field. During my studies and my job I worked with Stata. After deciding to quit my job, I wanted to become better at programming and in particular get better at some language applied more broadly, such as Python. This is also how I ended up at CodeAbbey. A Python course on Udemy mentioned this website in one of its notes, and I have used this website to improve my (python) programmings skills. I have enjoyed it a lot and am proud that I have finally solved enough puzzles to apply for a certificate!
Cheers, David
David, Hi!
Sorry for delay (and thanks for calling attention to this)!
Also thanks for your story, and your kind words!
Could you please clarify, how exactly your name should be spelled on certificate,
is PD Verdam
exactly what you want?
Hi Rodion, P.D. Verdam would be perfect, thanks!
Great! The thing should be ready by now and attached to your profile! Thanks for your efforts and patience :)
I'm not sure, but, probably it is the first certificate issued under the flag of Netherlands!
By the way, I'm curious - what course it was which refered to this small site :)
Many thanks Rodion, and also thanks for highlighting the FB hacker cup. I gave the qualification round a go, very interesting!
The Udemy course I took is called "2021 Complete Python Bootcamp From Zero to Hero in Python" (see: https://www.udemy.com/course/complete-python-bootcamp/). To be precies, at the end of Section 3 (Python objects and data structure basics), there was a list with helpful links for practice, including codingbat, project Euler, Code Abbey, reddit - Daily programmer and pythonchallenge.com.
I had a look at most of these, and codewars. However, for really exploring the programming I thought Code Abbey was very useful!
Cheers, David
