I'm Rodion Gorkovenko, born in USSR in 1981, in the Leningrad - the city about which Billy Joel has this wonderful song... :)

Currently employed as java-developer (here is my linkedin profile at some US-based outsourcing company.

I started programming late enough at the age of 15, when it became possible to purchase an old 80386-based PC. My first language was Pascal, then I switched to x86 assembly language, then C... I tried many others languages when learning in University and serving in army, but when I started my IT-career in 2008, I started it as enectronics-designer. There were many duties from programming MCUs to soldering and cutting cases for devices. I switched to Java only in 2011 when I get somewhat tired of C. Since then I learned a bit of web-design also since Java-programming nowadays is often enterprise web-applications. However this site is written in PHP which I'm trying to learn also :)

I have many hobbies, main of them is learning programming - I'm learning since 1997, I believe! CodeAbbey site was created to help both other people and myself in this - to practice algorithmic problems, share experience etc.

Concluding, I want to say Thanks a lot to all of you, who help me with your hints, suggestions, bug reports - without so kind user's feedback I never could go that far!

Ha-ha, I'm trying my best, though usually my wife outwits me :)

Hope this widget is not too annoying (as google ads were) - it mainly serves the goal of providing analytic data to alexa without spending money to register here :D
