Hi to everybody ! My name is Eli Shats. I am 57 y.o. programmer from Israel. I worked a long time on IBM iSeries ( former AS400 ) platform ( languages RPG, C400 ) Currently I am unemployment and during my period of receiving payments form National Insurance I get acquianted with this great site andwant to enhance my skills with different languages. ( Currently I am studying and practicinf with JAVA ) Bye

Oh, it is a good choice - a lot of positions worldwide and good salaries (I'm myself java programmer mainly). Though far not the easiest language :)

Yes, but the IBM i are considered as mostly as so called "midrange" computers, which are used widely ( as mainframes ) in banks and insurance companies ( mostly due to good calculation power and most of built in supplied features as security etc ) the only disadvantage - those platforms natively are supporting only DB2,
