Hi from Amara

Hi everyone! 😊

My name is Amara and I'm a 22 year old recent Multimedia Computing major graduate from Brooklyn, New York, U.S.! Currently I tutor Introductory Java programming at CUNY Brooklyn College in both the standard tutoring center on campus and in the Women's center, as a part of an initiative to help aid young women begin their transition in the world of computer programming, and work as a teacher's assistant for a Introductory Multimedia course (focusing mainly in HTML, CSS, and JS).

Apart from programming, I also enjoy art and work as a freelance illustrator in my spare time!

I think that this site is such a great resource to work on new skills and/or refresh old ones! Since, I've been working from home a lot lately (distance learning!), I've decided to use this extra time to refresh my Java skills in particular and these problems have been such a great way to do so! I've also been taking this time to learn a lot about Python as well, since I am more versed in Java and C++.
