Russian Dolls - A Proposed New Problem

As a child I was fascinated by Russian Dolls. I came across them again fairly recently and thought that they could be made into a good problem.
Hi Clive, and thanks a lot for the problem!
It's curious these dolls find a way into your childhood :) I thought they are mainly used as souvenirs... Besides being curious exercise in wood-turning (if I call it properly).
Again and again, as I was reading the problem, I thought "it should be easy that time" until I got to 3000 problem
size making zounds of possible combinations... Obviously it is not solved that "straight" then...
But it is exciting to see robbin_b already solved it!
