It look like your answer probably contains space after last letter of the ansver. On many tasks here checkers are sensitive to trailing spaces and blames on correct answers.

doing this problem I ran into the string: "opened gratis guffaw" the string contains 20 bytes (divisible by 5) so to my understanding it shouldn't be padded.
the answer the checker gave was N5YGK3TFMQQGO4TBORUXGIDHOVTGMYLXGU2TKNJV (appears to be padded with 5 extra bytes unnecessarily)
my answer was N5YGK3TFMQQGO4TBORUXGIDHOVTGMYLX (wasn't accepted by the checker)
Since i'm posting, I noticed that in this problem and variable length code the bit data is entered from msb to lsb (e.g. 10101010 will fit into a byte as 01010101). Is there a reason for this or did I just make a wrong turn somewhere?
Upon further testing it seems that when the checker performs padding it does not check for the case where the string to be padded has a length that is a multiple of 5.
