Back to Introduce Yourself forum
My name is Colin. I am 50 years old and from England. I was a chartered Mechanical Engineer. Now seeking a change of direction programming. September 2018 I was awarded the title of GradStat from the Royal Institute of Statistics so as you might guess I am interested in statistics. Other interests other than programming in Python are cycling and motorcycling.
Colin, Hello!
Thanks a lot for a note about yourself! I dare say it is quite inspiring :)
Here, where I live, many people prefer the state of "waiting for retirement" at 50 - and as I myself slowly approach 40, I somewhat shudder thinking how people lost... well... motivation or what? Thus you just gave an example which I feel like quite, hm, valuable.

Huh, I think that soon the community of data-scientists may try to claim your soul and skills. This seems to be quite a seething field nowadays! I myself sometimes think of migrating in this direction but it seems my math needs good polishing first... It would be very interesting to track whatever further path you prefer! :)
